Programs

REGISTRATIONS WILL OPEN DECEMBER 12th!

The long-term vision behind Innovative Change Makers as an organization is to provide holistic programming to our BIPOC families, beginning with Youth. We offer year-round services to our youth  and young adults ages 11-24, addressing a wide range of issues youth face, from economic instability, to education, mental health services, the need for safe spaces, and long-term support from mentors. It is our duty to instill the strong sense of community that once fueled us, and teach our younger generations the power of togetherness. We will approach the family with programming specific to both youth and parents and will address the family as a unit. Join us! We are stronger together.

Iron Sharpens Iron

FatherHOOD Support Group

The inception of the Iron Sharpens Iron FatherHOOD group was for gang affiliated fathers. But we want to invite all fathers of the BIPOC community to get together in a safe space and talk about their different experiences, How they’ve overcome adversities, Work/Home life balance, Mending damaged relationships, Resource sharing and Healthy Disciplinary Strategies. We will also offer once a quarter Father-child outings to strengthen those relationships.

After School Program!

Our I.C.M Scholars After School Program will be a time for students to get support with their homework and mentorship throughout the school year. Students face many changes throughout Middle School and High School, as well as diverse challenges they face outside of school. Our After School Program will provide a consistent safe space for students to talk about these changes, have access to resources for youth, and receive tutoring on any subjects students might need extra support in. In addition to our daily check-in and check-outs, we will have scheduled monthly one-on-one’s with each student to talk about how school is going, what each student is proud of, discuss any new barriers, create study plans and have a confidential space for students to share. Our tutors will be paid High School students who we are currently working with and Students from local Colleges who intend to volunteer.

Change starts with YOUth.

Throughout our I.C.M Scholars After School programming we will also have designated Financial Literacy, College Informational Sessions, and Life Skills activities planned. Innovative Change Maker’s Mission Statement highlights the importance of providing, “alternatives to hazardous lifestyles” and “the essential fundamentals of a healthy, legitimate, and prosperous way of life”. We are committed to structured learning through our intentional curriculums and weekly schedules
